Entrepreneurship in the Country

The land is rich in mineral resources, but mining has been stalled for years and it is still very restricted. The most important resources are lead, lignite, zinc, nickel and magnesium; the experts recommend lignite, which can attract many foreign investors. The land is also rich with approximately 15 billions of brown coal deposits, which can bring fortune to the country, since this is the richest territory in coal resources in this part of Europe.

Business Communication

Direct and straightforward talk is valued in Kosovo, however there is also an emphasis on choosing your words correctly and being diplomatic so as not to cause upset. Often the level of the relationship will determine how direct someone is or can be. For newly established relationships diplomacy is the key, so you may find people are not always willing to speak their minds.
Business Meetings

Meeting schedules as well as nature of meetings are very flexible in Kosovo.

There may be an agenda but it serves more as a basic guideline for the discussion than anything specific.
Be prepared for lengthy meetings. People may go off on tangents, plus time is never a factor to bring a meeting to a close.
There may be some small talk at the beginning of meetings. This could become more important as the relationship develops.

Initially at least, be sure to temper your communication style, if you are used to being quite direct. Building the relationship is more important initially and should be focused upon.
